Conduct
The purpose of the appraisal and ownership of the property
should be established before beginning an appraisal.
An appraisal will be impartial, objective, independent, without personal interests as to the value of
the property.
It is unethical to
appraise beyond one’s knowledge, ability, or expertise.
Professional courtesy toward other appraisers will be
maintained at all times.
Appraisers should avoid the appearance of conflict of
interest.
Management
Compensation for an appraisal will not be based on a
predetermined value.
No appraisal will be made without a physical examination of
the property.
Confidentiality
The appraiser will protect the confidentiality of the
client/appraiser relationship by not disclosing any information or assignment
results.
Recording keeping
Client information will be given in uniform, precise, clear
words using common understanding standards.
Records will be kept for five (5) years.
